The weather is beautiful; my feet are tired.

The weather was clear and sunny when we woke up, so our group headed to Murren and eventually to the Shilthorn.  We took the lift to the top and took photos of the view and several photos with James Bond and the "Bond Girls".

Becky and Lucy enjoyed the view, which is quite different from what they are accustomed to in Florida.

When we all decided it was time to go down the mountain, Harrison was nowhere to be found.  The rest of us jumped on the lift and headed to the bottom.  Faithful wife, Kim, remained on the top of the Shilthorn to locate her missing husband.  Once at the bottom, we decided to begin our hike down to the village of Gimmelwald, but we needed to leave Jack and Donna Jo at the bottom of the Shilthorn lift to tell Kim and Harrison where everyone was.  When they finally got off the lift, Jack was standing there waiting for them.

On the hike down to Gimmelwald Becky, Lucy, and Linda took a few minutes to rest and enjoy the view.

Finally the four tardy hikers joined our group.  At this point they were a bit behind the rest of us on the trail.  Here they were displaying the YOLO message to those of us below.

Once in Gimmelwald, we decided to eat a pizza lunch at the hikers' hostel.  It was such lovely weather that we ate ourside.  Our waitress was a lovely young lady named Elizabeth, who lived in Lauterbrunnen.

Dessert was, of course, chocolate fondu.  A good time was had by all.

Just as we were finishing our fondu, a brief shower passsed over, and for a period of time we were afraid our afternoon plans would need to be changed.  However, it turned out to be only a brief shower that actually cleared the air, and the Alps were even more visible than earlier in the day.

We took the lift back up from Gimmelwald to Murren, where we split up for a while.  Six of us took the funicular up to Allmendhubel.  Some went back to the chalet in Lauterbrunnen, and others...well, let us just say that four of our group went off together to make other plans.  Stay tuned.

At Allmendhubel the afternoon view was fantastic.  Maurice and Linda rode the funicular up to Allmendhubel, enjoyed the scenery for a while, then rode it back down to Murren, and eventually back to the chalet in Lauterbrunen.

Jack, Donna Jo, Olen and I decided to take the funicular up, but take the hike back to Murren since the views of the mountains were so outstanding.  I have said so many times that the hiking trails in the Alps are so well-marked that it is impossible to get lost.  However, Jack, Donna Jo, Olen and I managed to do the impossible and get lost.  It was not big problem, just added about an hour to our hiking time.  We enjoyed the view of the Alps and of the village of Murren below.

We are back at the chalet for the evening.  Chas is chopping veggies in the kitchen and we are sitting on the deck, resting, and enjoying memories of the day.  Perhaps we will play cards this evening and watch the lights on the waterfall once it gets dark.  Wow!
