Let the laughter begin

To further introduce our travel companions for this trip, we might take a brief stroll down “memory lane”. As I noted earlier, the four of us have been traveling together off and on since 1997. Before the days of blogging, we tried to e-mail one photo a day to our children at home…mostly so they would know how we were spending their inheritance. On a trip we took in 2002, the photos we sent home were creatively doctored by the recipients. We have Billy to “thank” for most of this work.

Our visit to the picturesque Peggy’s Cove in Nova Scotia was enhanced with an image of Gilligan in the background.

A photo of the four of us enjoying one of our famous picnic lunches was enhanced by superimposing an image of President George Bush sitting at the picnic table with us.

Not all of the creative photos were the victim of “doctoring”. Sometimes we posed our own. This leaning rock was much too much temptation…
…and the cornfield presented an opportunity we could not pass up, either.
We have enjoyed refreshments at a teahouse in Cairo, Egypt.

We usually stop to view a lovely lighthouse…

And we ALWAYS stop when we find a vintage ice cream shop.

But that is all past history. Very soon we will start making some new memories, and we invite you to join us by reading along.

I think we are ready to go…backpacks loaded…one pair of comfortable shoes…cameras with memory cards just waiting to be filled…passports…plane and train tickets… Yes, we are ready for another wonderful “journey”. It is time to get excited! Departure day is Thursday, August 30.

And...under no circumstances will Billy have access to this blog!

  1. Ice Cream? MAGNUMS!
And, I agree, blog integrity needs to be maintained.
    Safe travels :)
